Project Summary
In 2009, the University of Maryland Medical System engaged DMW to perform a series of feasibility and concept analyses to evaluate site suitability for the development of a medical campus, including a state-of-art 147-bed hospital and ambulatory care facility in the Town of Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Final plans were started in 2012 and in 2023, DMW was reengaged to complete the designs and construction drawings to facilitate the development of the 250-acre medical campus. To accommodate the hospital, DMW designed and prepared road plans to realign approximately 0.5 miles of Longwoods Road (MD 662) and add a roundabout to connect visitors of the hospital to US Route 50. DMW’s designs also encompassed a geothermal well field that will span over 60 acres of the site to provide energy for the hospital building.
