Legacy Project – Mays Chapel Village & Mays Chapel North

Land Planning has been at the heart of Daft-McCune-Walker’s business since the start of the firm back in 1970, and our legacy of fine work can be seen at numerous sites throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.  In 1972, the James Keelty & Co., Inc. (Keelty) hired DMW to provide the Master Plan, Environmental Analysis, Unit Type Analysis, and Preliminary Engineering Analyses for the 350+ acre “Mayfair” estate which later became known as “Mays Chapel Village”.  This 1,600-unit Planned Unit Development (PUD) was one of the first major PUDs in Baltimore County, and proposed unit types that included estate, single family, townhouse, quadraplex, court patio, garden, and midrise.  Ten years later, building upon the success of Mays Chapel Village, Keelty again hired DMW to prepare the Master Plan and PUD for the 400+/- acre, 1,500 unit “Mays Chapel North” project with a mix of residential unit types, commercial and retail, assisted living, parks, and a public school.  These stellar projects are two more examples of how DMW has been designing, developing, and delivering quality work for over 50 years.
