Legacy Project – Market Square

Located just off Liberty Road inside the Frederick City limits, Daft-McCune-Walker’s award winning Market Square mixed-use development project is yet another prime example of our firm’s success in designing, developing, and delivering outstanding places for people to live, work, and play.  Spanning nine years from preliminary design through construction, our Market Square project includes 198,000 square feet of retail shops, restaurants, offices, and a community fitness center along with 412 residences comprised of detached garage townhomes, integrated garage townhomes, two-over-two “stacked” townhomes, apartment units, and live/work units.  One of the largest mixed-use development projects within the Frederick City limits, the 50-acre Market Square project was designed in a true neo-traditional fashion, incorporating Main Street two-story elements into the retail areas and providing trademark residential streetscapes reminiscent of traditional “town-center” developments.  The Frederick County Builder’s Association 2012 “Award of Excellence” for “Best PUD/PND/MXD”, was presented to DMW for our work on this exemplary mixed-use project.
